2000 Toyota MR-S “GT86 Roadster” (Grand Prix Engineering MR-86 Conversion)

This is one of the rarest JDM custom builds you’ll ever find on the market. What started life as a Toyota MR2 Spyder has been transformed into a stunning GT86-style convertible, built by the legendary Grand Prix Engineering of Japan. Every detail of this build was hand-crafted by skilled technicians, blending authentic Toyota 86 styling with the mid-engine chassis of the MR2. The car features custom widebody panels, genuine Toyota 86 headlights and taillights, and a full respray in a show-stopping Ferrari red paint with colorful metal flake.

The result is a vehicle that looks and feels like a factory-produced GT86 Roadster – a model Toyota never officially made. The conversion process is incredibly labor-intensive, taking weeks of precise fabrication, fitment, and finishing. Only a handful of these MR-86 conversions were ever completed, all within Japan. This makes the car not just rare, but virtually unknown outside of Japan.
